May and June saw Montana locals flocking to enjoy time outside with family. We were camping, floating, fishing, living pretty much the normal life in the country side while others couldn't leave their houses in the big cities across the US. We always knew how fortunate we are to live in an incredible state like Montana. The 4th largest state in the union, we are just now topping a million residents. Social distancing is a part of our everyday life for most of us, especially when on the water floating. We never take that aspect for granted, especially during these trying times.

As soon as governor Bullock allowed commercial fishing to resume for non residents we were on the water with clients. July 2nd we started bending rods on the Missouri river. For the people that did not cancel or move dates to a later time, we thank you so very much. Your efforts on making it to Montana certainly did not go unnoticed, and were rewarded with some of the best mid season fishing we have seen in some time! We landed fish on multiple rivers across the state, 9 to be exact, using various techniques. It was exciting to see success on the water and get our minds wrapped around some form of normalcy again. August is sure to bring some continuation of great fishing. Hoppers are here to stay for the month. Fish have been looking for the big bug on top. Flows across the state are good even with the current heat wave of 90 degree weather. So far no rivers are under a hoot owl, 2 pm closer, each day. Things are looking good as we roll into the last 2 months of fishing before heading south again to chase monster redfish! With international travel still shut down, and presumably staying that way till the beginning of the year, we encourage y'all to try something different in the marshes of Louisiana. Come tame that internal fishy madness fix with some down south hospitality. Early October and mid December - January dates are still available for the pickings! Prime dates that never disappoint. It's a helluva good time both on and off the water! Thank you again to all who forged forward to Montana. We, more then ever, successfully used fishing as an excuse to escape the rigors of the everyday fast lane, and we’re able to slow the cast down and enjoy the outdoors and life the way it was intended to be.

Cheers,

AWA

What a year 2020 has become. Its goes without saying that it has been an absolute shit show for just about everyone out there! Whatever your current situation is, we hope y'all are safe, enjoying family time, and making it through all this with some outdoor activities.

The end of our redfish season in Louisiana was cut short mid March. Cancellations were made, guests were re-booked, we were scratching our heads, and the fish kept swimming as per usual like nothing is wrong. We were able to get on the pointy end of the boat WAY more then usual. A subject matter that is love hate for someone trying to make a living as an fly fishing outfitter. If you are on the front numerous days in row, something is not quite right in the grand scheme of things. We took the time with a grain of salt and made the absolute best of it. Capturing new footage on the water with drones, finding more late season fishing haunts, just relaxing and taking in how the last 5 years of business has gone.

We are excited to have amazing clients that have stuck by our side to enjoy the outdoor fishing experiences with us. No doubt we have many more to come very soon. Our early season October is light with bookings still. November is almost completely full, December half reserved. Late season January - April is wide open and fair game for anyone wanting to escape the north winter elements! Looking forward to the summer trout season in Montana as always, but something about pulling hard on those massive bull redfish will keep us excited to start right back up again this fall!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Challenge limitation... What does that mean to the average person going about their everyday routine?...

For Jessi, his everyday is different. Its takes patience, it takes persistence, it takes willingness far more then the average person withholds. When Jessi aligns his sights in a direction, he does everything in his power to accomplish the task at hand. For the last 8 years Jessi has had a voice tell him he will one day land his first ever salt water fish on fly. Long winters in Montana setup the perfect scenario to skip south for a few days and attach another star on his belt of accomplishments post injury. Day 1, 15 minutes in, mission accomplished.

When you loose sleep wondering how something is going to work out, you know your doing the right thing. You are challenging limitation, doing something that very few have done, that most would look right past, writing your own script. Those are the guiding moments we love and live for. The moments we loose sleep, second-guess, figure out a plan, and execute. All Water Anglers is inspired, humbled, fortunate, proud and excited for Jessi and what is in the future for disabled athletes that aspire these same dreams.

Access Unlimited (challengelimitation.org) was founded by a small group of people with a common mission: to help others reach new heights in there lives post injury. The organization is entering its 5th season on the waters of Montana, and cannot wait for the expansion to the southern waters of Louisiana.

Congrats & Thank you Jessi, Steve, and the AU team for including us on this longtime coming, amazing journey, to success on the salt water!

Cheers to more days like these

PS. Thanks for adding a little country western to the southern jazz record collection! #Hank #Cash
